Pizza Night & Exercise Calorie Credit

I did it again last night.  I woke up and binged... on ricotta cheese and cold leftovers.  I had a solid amount of calories at dinner yesterday, too.  482 for the Mix & Match Pasta Bake that my wife made, and 480 via scoops of protein powder.  I think the poor breakfast just caught up with me.  Tonight I've just got to stay asleep.

We haven't eaten dinner yet (7pm, at the moment), and I'm pretty hungry.  It's pizza night, and I've only got enough room in the calorie budget for one slice - two slices if I take the exercise calorie deduction.  Not fun at all right now.

I'm really struggling with the idea of exercise calories.  There's no convenient way to reliably calculate the number of calories I burn doing a given exercise.  That's why I'm relying on weigh-ins and adjusting my formulas if I'm taking too much credit for exercise.  And my weigh-ins haven't been phenomenal this week.  Constant back-and-forth on the scale.  I really want to step on the scale Monday and know that I've dropped another two pounds since last Monday.

Time to go... I think my wife just got back with the pizza.

  1. I lost 20 pounds doing paleo in 30 days last year. And that was even with a "pizza friday" cheat day during the last two weeks.

  2. I doubt I could live a lifetime of "paleo diet." I need to create a habit of eating weight-maintaining portions and constant self-monitoring. This is less about weight loss than it is a path to continued success.
